Insights Ofcom proposes changes to how it checks and reports the accessibility of “on-demand” television services to people with hearing and/or sight impairments.

On-demand services include ITV Hub, All4 and Amazon Prime, among others.  Ofcom is consulting on changes to how it collects and publishes data on these services’ accessibility.

Ofcom is inviting views on proposals to collect and report this data alongside broadcast TV data on accessibility.

Ofcom says that the proposals would help it fulfil its statutory duties in this area.  These include encouraging providers of on-demand services to ensure their services are progressively made more accessible to people with hearing and/or sight impairments.

The closing date for responses is 25 October 2016.  To access the consultation, click here.
