CAP has launched “Insiders’ Guide to the ASA and CAP”, a new CAP e-Learning module to provide marketing, advertising and compliance professionals with an essential foundation of how advertising regulation works.

Created by the advertising experts who write the rules, the online training course will take participants through the key principles of creating marketing communications that comply with the Codes, and uses real-life ASA rulings to illustrate how the ASA remit applies.

The module covers:

  • how advertising self-regulation works, the separate roles of the ASA and CAP and what happens if someone complains about an ad;
  • the remit of the Codes, including what counts as online advertising; and
  • an overview of the advertising rules for broadcast and non-broadcast media.
