News Wiggin advises Lookout Point on BBC Worldwide investment

Media law firm Wiggin has advised production company Lookout Point on the acquisition by BBC Worldwide of a 35% stake in the company.

Lookout Point was established in 2009 and produces high-end successful television dramas including Ripper Street, Parade’s End, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Rebecca Hall, and  four-part series Titanic.   This deal will see BBC Worldwide, with whom Lookout Point has a strategic co-venture partnership, invest a 35% stake in the production company.

Wiggin’s Partner Adrian Jones led the team who advised Lookout Point on this deal.   Adrian co-heads the firm’s market-leading corporate practice.  He has advised on recent high-profile deals which include Bauer in relation to the acquisition of Planet Rock and its investment in Stork Up; Shortlist Media in relation to their joint ventures with DC Thomson and Marie Claire; Sony in relation to their investment in Electric Ray and other production companies; Achica, the online retailer,  in relation to investments by Balderton, DFJ Esprit and Lansdowne; and Racecourse Betting Company in its joint venture with Betfred and Tote.
