HomeInsightsOfcom publishes annual report on monitoring compliance with the Net Neutrality Regulation (2015/2120/EU).

Ofcom has published its second annual report to the European Commission on monitoring open internet access.

The report sets out Ofcom’s approach to monitoring and enforcing the EU net neutrality rules under the Regulation, from May 2017 to April 2018.

Under these rules, which came into effect on 30 April 2016, broadband providers must treat all internet traffic on their networks equally, and must not give preferential treatment to certain sites or services.

The monitoring work has identified some specific regulatory issues that are currently under investigation.  Ofcom will continue to monitor the practices of internet providers to ensure they are complying with Regulation, and will intervene when necessary.  To access the annual report, click here.
