Insights Information Commissioner’s Office issues £40,000 to debt management company for spam texts.

The ICO has fined a London-based company £40,000 for sending spam texts. Vincent Bond Ltd, a debt management company, sent 346,162 texts offering quick cash loans.

The ICO found that people had not given their permission to be sent the messages.

The ICO says that it receives around 13,000 complaints about spam texts, emails and nuisance calls a month and is currently investigating 167 cases. To read the ICO’s press release in full, click here.
