On 15 August 2017 the Government announced that it was running a survey to gather data on the UK’s cyber security industry.  The consultation closed on 31 August 2017 and the Government has now published the final UK Cyber Security Sectoral Analysis.

The Analysis provides an estimate of the size and scale of the UK cyber security industry.  Findings include:

  • the number of UK cyber security companies;
  • the cyber security sector’s contribution to the UK economy (through revenue and GVA);
  • the number of personnel employed in the cyber security sector; and
  • the products and services offered by these firms.

The Analysis offers a baseline for the economic profile of the UK cyber security sector based on 2015/16 data and creates an opportunity to track growth within the sector.  It also explores the investment and funding available to the cyber security sector.  To access the Analysis, click here.
