HomeInsightsBody of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) publishes its Strategy 2021-2025

The new BEREC Strategy 2021-2025 was published during BEREC’s 43rd ordinary meeting on 16 June 2020. The Strategy now covers a period of five years instead of three years to enable better alignment with the legislative cycle of the European Commission, and with the objectives and new priorities set out by President von der Leyen for the period of 2019 to 2024.

The importance of very high capacity networks has been incorporated into the document. In particular, the issue of take-up has been added to correctly reflect the scope of the first objective of the European Electronic Communications Code, as well as deployment of such networks. The document emphasises access by EU citizens and businesses as one of BEREC’s priorities. To access the Strategy document, click here.
