News Wiggin advises Blast! Films on sale to Sky

Specialist media law firm Wiggin has advised independent production company Blast! Films on the sale of a majority stake to Sky.

Blast! Films was founded by Edmund Coulthard in 1994. The company is behind Steve McQueen’s first film ‘Hunger’, and Channel 4’s documentary series ‘The Night Bus’ and ‘The Supervet’. Blast! Films will continue to operate under the same management team and provide shows to a variety of broadcasters. As part of the deal, Sky Vision will take over the distribution of Blast! Films’ new programming in the UK and internationally.

Wiggin Corporate Partner Michael Brader led the team who advised Blast! Films. Michael runs the firm’s market-leading practice in independent TV mergers and acquisitions.
