Gurminder specialises in IP, brand management and technology matters, and works with creative businesses to help them to protect their IP and grow.
Gurminder leads our Brand Management and Trade Marks team, and oversees global trade mark portfolios for a number of high-profile brands. He has significant experience in Registry matters in the UK, EU and beyond, and provides strategic legal advice on issues ranging from brand extension to co-existence. He also handles a range of contractual matters in the fields of brand licensing, merchandising and franchising. Gurminder is an Allied Member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) and an active member of the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA).
Gurminder has experience of negotiating a range of commercial contracts, including media distribution and software/IT contracts. He was seconded to BT Vision to work within its Content Acquisition team ahead of the platform’s launch in 2007. He also advises a growing number of early stage businesses through his involvement in accelerator programmes, such as Microsoft Ventures, Wayra and BBC Worldwide Labs.
