Nick is a commercial lawyer in the computer games group at Wiggin. He represents computer game publishers, developers and platform owners, as well as some other related technology businesses. Nick has a particular specialism in intellectual property law, holding a Distinction in the Post-graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Oxford. In addition to drafting contracts and advising on regulatory issues in the sector, Nick advises games companies on the exploitation, protection and enforcement of trade marks, patents, copyright, designs and confidential information.
Nick has spent over a year on a part-time secondment at a successful artificial intelligence company and so has direct experience of life as an in-house lawyer. He is also a fluent German speaker and is happy to take instructions from and advise clients in German.
Nick speaks at and attends games industry conferences and events regularly, both in the UK and abroad. Between the challenges of work and fatherhood, Nick still finds some time for computer games, so feel free to ask him what his current favourite is.
