Kate de la Grense

Kate is an associate working with the firm’s Film and TV group, primarily focussing on film and TV development work. She qualified as a lawyer into the media practice of (what is now) Reed Smith LLP in 2005 where she advised banks and financiers on multi party film finance transactions as well as undertaking development and production work, acting for independent British film producers, studios and TV animation companies.

Kate moved in house to the media finance fund Aramid Capital Partners where she worked for 7 years and became Head of Legal ad Business Affairs (Europe). She advised on a wide range of issues relating to film production, finance and distribution, gaining an invaluable in-depth commercial insight into the world of film, TV and theatre and the exploitation of media assets.

Kate now specialises in film and TV development work, advising many of the UK’s leading TV production companies as well as US studios on early stage documentation such as option agreements, treatments, writer and director agreements and general chain of title issues.
