LONDON – Media, Technology and IP law firm Wiggin has retained its tier 1 ranking in the 2016 edition of Managing IP’s IP Stars – UK Copyright.

Managing IP’s rankings are based on thorough research carried out with law firms and clients.  A Tier 1 ranking means that the publication considers that Wiggin has specialists who can advise rights holders on the cutting edge issues in copyright, and that the firm represents clients in a broad range of copyright-based industries, from publishing and entertainment to technology.

Wiggin partner and head of the IP practice Simon Baggs comments: “Our practice has advised on some of the highest profile copyright cases recently, securing wins for clients ranging from luxury brands, music companies, publishers and film studios.  The advent of the Internet has led to an explosion of IP and copyright infringement online.  Wiggin is at the forefront of the fight to protect IP rights in the digital environment, pioneering the use of the Internet infrastructure and technology to tackle this problem effectively.”

This top tier ranking follows a series of accolades and recognitions for Wiggin’s IP practice, having won the UK category for copyright at the 2015 Managing IP Awards, the award for Most Innovative Law Firm in Intellectual Property Law at the 2015 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards, and Baggs listed as one of the FT Legal Innovators of the Year.
