David Quli, partner in Wiggin’s film and TV group, has raised over £2,000 for Cancer Research UK and proved his mettle in this year’s Copenhagen Iron Man challenge.

The race, which took place on 18 August 2013, involved a 3.8km swim in the Baltic, a 180km cycle and a marathon to finish, all of which David completed in 11 hours and 7 minutes.

David comments: “I chose Cancer Research as my charity as so many people I know are and have been affected by the disease. In the end I raised far more than I thought I would which definitely added extra motivation during the final hour or so!

“The swim went well after the usual tussle for position, the cycle was hard due to a headwind and the second half of the run was tough and a bit of a blur.  I was very pleased to cross the finish line and enjoyed the beer that followed!

“Thanks to everyone who donated to such a worthy cause.”

Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. They fight cancer on all fronts, finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat it to save more lives.
