Ofcom has published proposed amendments to the Guidance for Rule 11 of the rules for on-demand programme services (ODPS). The changes the regulator is consulting on aim to promote consistency between its approach to regulating “specially restricted material” on ODPS, and the approach of the British Board of Film Classification to regulating “pornographic” content online on commercial adult websites.

Separately, and for information only, the document also sets out the changes that Ofcom will be making to Rule 11 to reflect the amendments to the definition of “specially restricted material” introduced by the Digital Economy Act 2017.

Ofcom is seeking views by 3 December 2018. To access the proposals, click here.
