The Marrakesh Treaty is an international legal instrument, which makes it easier for blind, visually impaired and print disabled people to access works protected by copyright.

The IPO’s guidance on the implementation of the Marrakesh Treaty has been updated to reflect that the UK has now ratified the Marrakesh Treaty in its own right. The UK’s ratification of the treaty came into force on 1 January 2021.

The IPO has also updated its guidance on access to copyright works for visually impaired people after the transition period to reflect the UK’s ratification of the Marrakesh Treaty in its own right. To access the Marrakesh Treaty guidance, click here. To access the access guidance, click here.
