Following the European Commission’s February 2020 Communication on Shaping Europe’s Digital Future, and President von der Leyen’s proposal for a common digital plan for 2030, endorsed by the European Council, the Commission has now published a Roadmap setting out a vision of what a successful digital transformation means for Europeans by 2030. The Commission says that the Roadmap sets out a clear ambition based on common targets, digital principles serving people, a framework to foster scaling up European strategic capacities with multi-country projects, a governance structure and actions to engage with citizens.
