HomeNewsWiggin advises Merkur Group on acquisition of White Hat Studios

We’re delighted to have advised Merkur Group on its acquisition of White Hat Studios, the market-leading slots provider focused on the US iGaming market.

The acquisition will further accelerate Merkur’s US expansion, with the move complementing its recent acquisition of Gaming Arts, the Nevada licensed game and machine supplier. The expanded group is now positioned to support operating partners’ growth ambitions in the US through its portfolio of both online-first and omni-channel games.

The completion of the acquisition of White Hat Studios is subject to regulatory approvals.

The Wiggin team was led by David McLeish together with Sam Martin (Legal Director) and primarily supported by Luke Schofield (Corporate), Ceri Stoner and Christian Burchardt (Tax), Seth Roe (Employment), Bethan Lloyd (Betting & Gaming) and Michael Browne (Intellectual Property).

David McLeish commented: “This is a strategically significant acquisition for Merkur and it has been a pleasure to work with the client to secure the deal. We look forward to seeing White Hat Studios go from strength to strength.”

Wiggin’s Corporate practice has been involved in many of the most significant private M&A deals in the online gambling sector in recent years.
