The Chairman of the Supreme Court and Judicial Committee, Lord Reed, has announced that there are at present no plans to close the Registry before the Easter vacation. However, for parties who prefer not to travel to the court to file their papers, they can instead email them to the registry on registry@supremecourt.uk or registry@jcpc.uk specifying the means by which they propose to file (i.e. post, DX or courier). If this is done then the document will be treated as having been filed on the next business day.

Furthermore, time limits will be applied flexibly and parties should bear in mind the provision of the overriding objective of the Rules that unnecessary disputes over procedural matters are discouraged. To read the announcement on the Supreme Court website, click here.
