The new International Data Transfers Expert Council is a subgroup of the National data Strategy Forum launched in May 2021. It will consist of 15 leading individuals from academia, industry and civil society, will provide independent and expert advice to enable the Government to deliver on its plans. The Government plans to “work globally to remove unnecessary barriers to cross-border data flows”.

The Government is currently inviting applications to become a member of the Council. The deadline is 12 September 2021. To read the Government’s announcement in full, click here.
