HomeInsightsGambling Commission further extends submission dates for regulatory returns

The Commission reminds readers that regulatory returns are a basic condition of holding a gambling licence and the Commission still expects them to be submitted accurately and in a timely manner. It says that, more than ever, the data collected on the size, shape and trends of the gambling market is “critical to our work in making gambling fair and safe”.

The Commission has already allowed an additional four weeks (28 days) for operators whose regulatory returns are due on or before 30 June 2020. While operators continue to adjust their working arrangements due to Covid-19, it has updated this guidance and, for operators whose annual regulatory returns are due between 1 July and 31 July 2020, it is also allowing some additional time. These must all be submitted by 12 September 2020.

Quarterly returns due after 30 June must now be submitted as normal (within 28 days of an operator’s quarter end). For example, if your quarter end is in line with UK financial quarters (1 April 2020 to 30 June 2020) you need to submit by 28 July 2020.

The Commission reminds readers that its regulatory returns reminder service is automated. Reminder emails will therefore state the original submission due dates. To read the Commission’s announcement in full, click here.
