We co-created three subscription video on demand (SVOD) channels – Cirkus, Curio and Kritic and have worked with our partners to deliver quality drama and factual programming.
The idea for Cirkus came about in 2013, when leading pay TV platforms started to come under threat from a plethora of new OTT internet channels. The idea was to give these platforms quality, on-demand content to fight back.
We partnered with pay TV consultancy Content Associates LLP and digital product designers Ostmodern to create Cirkus and then helped bring ITV on board to show Best of British drama in the Nordic and German-speaking DACH regions.
Cirkus was shortlisted for PayTV Service of the Year in the Digital TV Europe Content Innovation Awards 2015, and it’s now an important part of ITV’s international pay television distribution strategy. Cirkus shows titles like ITV-distributed Victoria and Content Television’s Line of Duty.
In 2017 we helped set up Curio to provide high-quality factual documentaries and late 2019 saw the launch of Kritic which provides premium non-English language drama to the Nordic region.
We got into the SVOD TV business early because we saw the chance to use our experience and expertise to help build a product with real potential in the evolving tv market and that, crucially, we could co-own and co-manage.
