HomeInsightsUK Jurisdiction Taskforce of LawtechUK consults on proposals for a new arbitration procedure in relation to technology disputes

The UK Jurisdiction Taskforce (UKJT) of LawtechUK is consulting on a possible new arbitration procedure aimed at facilitating the rapid, informal and cost-effective resolution of disputes arising out of novel technologies, including digital assets, smart contracts, blockchain and fintech. The purpose of the consultation is to seek views on the following questions:

  • Is there a need for or advantage in a new arbitral process aimed at facilitating the rapid, informal and cost-effective resolution of disputes arising out of novel digital technologies?
  • Does the process as described in the draft rules meet that need?
  • If not, why?

The UKJT will also be holding a webinar on 26 February 2021.

The deadline for responses to the consultation is 5 March 2021. For further information, click here.
