London – Media, Entertainment, Technology and IP law firm Wiggin LLP today announced that it has secured the entire 12th floor at Space House in Covent Garden.
Wiggin will occupy 10,500 square feet across a single floor in the landmark building, which has recently been redeveloped. The move reflects Wiggin’s commitment to provide a collaborative and flexible working environment, and positions the firm in one of London’s most vibrant cultural hubs.
Space House is a Grade II listed 1960s brutalist building retrofitted to become one of the most sustainable historic buildings in the UK. It has achieved BREEAM’s “Outstanding” certified rating – the first Grade II listed building in London to do so. The retrofit retained 90% of the original structure, saving an estimated 10,000 tonnes of embodied carbon compared to a new build, and the building is designed to be net-zero carbon in operation. Space House has been described as “one of the most important redevelopment projects of our time” by Historic England, and has been shortlisted for a British Council for Offices award.
Amenities include The Clubhouse, a members-style club space at the top of the Kingsway block with a large outdoor terrace offering views over Central London, and Space Studios, a double-height event space and auditorium created from the former underground car park.
David Quli, Managing Partner at Wiggin, commented: “This relocation represents an important milestone for Wiggin. We wanted an inspiring space that would support our culture, encourage collaboration and deliver improvements in sustainability. Space House is an architecturally striking building which has an abundance of natural light and outstanding views. We’re excited to see the fit out come to life in the coming months and we’re looking forward to the move to our new London home.”
The fit out is currently underway, with the firm relocating later in the summer.
