News Wiggin advises on sale of Love Productions to BSkyB

Media law firm Wiggin has advised Love Productions, the independent production company behind the Great British Bake-Off, Newlyweds, Famous, Rich and Homeless and Benefits Street, on the sale of a 70-percent stake to leading home entertainment and communications provider BskyB.

Love Productions was founded in October 2004 by Richard McKerrow and Anna Beattie and has production bases in London, Bristol, New York and Los Angeles.  As part of the deal, Love Productions will continue to produce programmes for all the major UK broadcasters, as well as creating programmes and formats for sale around the world. McKerrow and Beattie will continue to run the company with the current senior management team.

BSkyB’s international distribution business, Sky Vision, will become Love Productions’ distribution partner, representing all new finished programmes and formats.

Wiggin’s Corporate Partner Michael Brader led the team who advised Love Productions on this deal.
