Alex is a partner in our media litigation practice and Managing Director of specialist content protection business, Reviewed & Cleared.

”I have significant industry knowledge having advised almost every UK newspaper and I continue to work regularly with The Times, Sunday Times, The Guardian and a number of clients in book and magazine publishing. I’m also an experienced TV lawyer, with credits for legal work on prime time shows and many years’ work for independent production companies on documentaries, comedies, films, music and sports series.

As well as working as a lawyer, I’ve also enjoyed a career as a freelance journalist, writing for UK broadsheets and international magazines on law, sport, literature, art and travel. I’ve reviewed books for the Times Literary Supplement, been a columnist for The Times and Independent on Sunday, and have been short-listed as sports feature writer of the year. I’m the author of three non-fiction books and Flack’s Last Shift, a novel about life on Fleet Street. I think this experience helps me understand the issues faced by writers, editors and any creative. I’m keeping my hand in with my own creative pursuits, too, working on a book called A Season on the Med: Riviera Football in Italy and France (With a Trip to Athens for Stan), and co-hosting a podcast called Footy on the Med.

Having worked with journalists, editors and broadcasters all my life, as both a lawyer and writer, I bring a quick-thinking, practical approach, with one overriding aim: to see the story published. ”
