As Partner and head of the IP team at Wiggin LLP and CEO of Incopro Limited, Simon is acknowledged as the leading expert on digital enforcement issues in the UK today acting for many of the largest global content owners and brands. His litigation team has won the most significant cases in the UK concerned with protecting IP rights in the online environment. Many of these cases have involved using technology to address the challenges presented by the explosion of the Internet as both a business opportunity and threat. Simon led the team advising the Motion Picture Association in the first case to secure a UK court order requiring Internet Service Providers to use their Internet infrastructure to prevent access to websites infringing copyright. His team also advised and recently represented the owners of Cartier and Montblanc in the recent Court of Appeal case brought by the ISPs to challenge an earlier judgement securing similar protection for trademark owners against websites selling counterfeit products.
In 2012, Simon co-founded Incopro – a company that provides IP rights owners with technology and services designed to enable enforcement at a scale essential to tackle the explosion of IP infringement online.
In 2015, Simon’s team won the Financial Times Award for Innovation in Intellectual Property. He was also shortlisted for the Legal Innovator of the Year by the Financial Times.
Roxanne Elings is recognized as one of the nation’s leading trademark and brand management attorneys, concentrating on protecting brands on a worldwide basis, including creating, managing and enforcing trademark portfolios, and possessing significant experience in anti-counterfeiting and trademark infringement. She represents a diverse roster of clients, including those in the industries of outdoor performance and fashion apparel, luxury goods, consumer electronics, beauty and entertainment.
Roxanne obtained the precedent-setting order in the United States, directing third party intermediaries to disable websites offering counterfeit goods, thus enabling brand owners to disable thousands of websites with one order. She has since replicated this order, shutting down websites infringing copyrighted content.
Roxanne was named one of The Top 20 Most Influential Women in IP Law by Law360 and has been ranked by World Trademark Review’s WTR-1000 (2012-2016 edition) as one of the top attorneys nationally in trademark prosecution, enforcement/litigation and anti-counterfeiting. She is the only attorney to receive top rankings in all three categories, which, according to WTR, indicates “an exceptional national reach and reputation.”
Richard Spearman QC is a barrister at 39 Essex Chambers and has been lead counsel on many of the key ISP cases in recent years. He has a wide ranging practice and has appeared in many high profile and reported cases, including five cases in the House of Lords, and numerous cases in the Court of Appeal and all divisions of the High Court, as well as advising on and appearing in litigation overseas and in commercial, media and sport arbitrations. He has argued cases in the Court of Appeal concerning freezing injunctions, civil fraud, tracing, disclosure, arbitration, police powers, negligence, contracts, insurance, defamation, copyright, confidence, data protection, costs, personal injuries and gambling. For many years, independent directories have recommended him as a leading practitioner in a range of areas, including Media and Entertainment and Defamation and Privacy. He has been admitted to the Bars of Gibraltar, Trinidad & Tobago and the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. He is a Recorder of the Crown Court and of the County Court and a Deputy High Court Judge.
Ewan is a former Senior Army Officer who has worked latterly in the private sector where he developed commercial expertise in global security and risk management – particularly Brand Protection. His personal skills focus upon strategic planning, change/crisis management, project management and leadership.
Following a diverse and operationally focused military career, Ewan joined a FTSE 10 company (BAT) where he held global responsibility for investigations and enforcement into the trafficking of illicit tobacco products – smuggling and counterfeiting. This led him to work in other areas of Brand Protection such as Government Engagement, Advocacy and media/communications. Working with various industries, he developed new concepts for closer cooperation with Police and Customs agencies around the world in tackling organised crime. Seven years later, he now works as a consultant in business intelligence and corporate security.
A Council Member of the Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG), Ewan often speaks at conferences and seminars on Brand Protection, sometimes acting as Chair.

Darek Nehrebecki is a Senior Consultant at Oxera, and specialises in commercial and strategic advisory work across a number of sectors. In the IP space, he has advised on patent monetisation and valuation, as well as worked on litigation cases. Darek is currently working on a project with Incopro to analyse the true return on investment for companies that utilise brand protection solutions.
Mike leads Interbrand’s ISO-certified brand valuation offer globally, providing overall strategy and thought leadership across its network. With an MA in Economics from Cambridge University, Mike is also a Chartered Accountant, qualifying with Arthur Andersen in London, and a Chartered Marketer. He has close to 15 years of experience in understanding and measuring the value of brands for both brand management and a wide range of other commercial purposes.
When applied to brand management, he believes that the most effective valuations are those that are holistic (involving a range of quantitative and qualitative inputs), consider the strength of the brand inside and outside the organization, and that involve functions outside of marketing to generate a roadmap of activities to enhance the brand experience and unlock growth.
