Ofcom consults on changes to its General Conditions of Entitlement.

The General Conditions of Entitlement are the rules that all electronic communications providers have to meet in order to operate in the UK.

The consultation is part of a review designed to ensure that the General Conditions (GCs) reflect Ofcom’s current policy priorities, and that they remain appropriate for today’s communications market.

Ofcom wants to make the GCs clearer and more practical, make it easier for businesses to set out processes for compliance and ensure compliance.

The review is examining all of the current GCs, and will be split over two consultations.  This first consultation covers about half of the conditions, with the remainder expected to be addressed in a second consultation later this year.

The closing date for responses to this consultation is 11 October 2016.  To access the consultation, click here.
