HomeInsightsNominet publishes revised Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) Policy.

Publication of the new DRS Policy follows the consultation and comment period earlier this year.  The new Policy will apply to all complaints filed from 1 October 2016.

The DRS is Nominet’s mediation-based process for resolving disputes between parties over the registration or use of .UK domain names.  Nominet says that the DRS aims to provide a clear, quick and cost-effective process outside of the formal court system which facilitates an amicable resolution between the parties where possible, and which is accessible and fair to both those complaining and domain name registrants.

The new DRS Policy, along with some analysis and feedback on the comments that were made, can be found here.  A document showing the changes made to the proposed draft in response to comments has also been published.  To read Nominet’s press release, click here.
