HomeInsightsIntellectual Property (Unjustified Threats) Bill completes passage through Parliament

On 21 March, MPs debated the Report Stage and Third Reading of the Intellectual Property (Unjustified Threats) Bill in the House of Commons.

The Bill passed Report stage and Third Reading without division or amendments, and has now completed its Commons stages.

The final stage for the Bill is to go back to the Lords for consideration of amendments. However, since there were no amendments, the Bill is ready to receive Royal Assent.

The Bill aims to amend the law relating to unjustified threats to bring proceedings for the infringement of patents, registered trade marks, rights in registered designs, design right or Community designs, into line. To check the Bill’s status and progress, click here.
