The Industry Group for Responsible Gambling (“IGRG“) has published its new ‘Gambling Industry Code for Socially Responsible Advertising‘.

IGRG’s new guidelines seek to enhance industry advertising standards, and introduce a number of additional measures relating to advertising on social media and affiliate marketing. These include new measures designed to limit promotional exposure to minors on social media channels, including requirements to make use of age-gating/ age-screening functions on Twitter and YouTube channels. Operators are also now encouraged to use their best endeavours to ensure that their affiliates comply with the industry Code.

We remind operators that the Gambling Commission’s licence conditions and codes of practice make it an ordinary code requirement to follow the IGRG’s Code.
