David Davies OBE

Within his twelve years at the Football Association, David held posts that included Executive Director and Director of International Development, Director of Public Affairs and Communications and Acting Chief Executive. With an long and successful career at the BBC before this, David is often recognised as one of the key faces of Grandstand, Match of the Day and the National News. David joins Wiggin LLP as a consultant, working with the sport sector team.

Peter Millichip

BACKGROUND IN BRIEF
• Became Senior Partner of Sharpe & Millichip in 1978, at the age of 26.
• Joined Edge & Ellison (now Hammonds) in 1996 to help form the first bespoke Sports Law practice in the UK.
• Assisted in the takeover of the niche international sports practice Townleys by Hammonds in 2001.
• Joined Wiggin & Co with responsibility for sports related matters in the Media and IT sector in 2002.

Corporate, commercial, regulatory and private client expertise in the sports and media sectors.

Peter has fronted or worked alongside many of the leading figures of sport, particularly at governing body level. These have included UEFA, The Football Association, the FA Premier League, The Football League and the Professional Footballers Association in the dynamic and volatile world of football.

He has also worked on matters involving the International Rugby Federation, the RFU, the French Rugby Federation and the Six Nations in Rugby. In Cricket he has acted for the ECB, MCC and the First Class Forum of Cricket, and is regional representative of the Professional Cricketers' Association for six of the first class counties. In addition to his work for governing bodies embracing many different sports, Peter has acted for numerous clubs and individuals, including his own beloved West Bromwich Albion.

NOTABLE TRANSACTIONS
Peter has acted on numerous high profile transactions over the years.
• Of recent interest, he acted for The British Athletic Federation in defence of the claims by Diane Modahl.
• He acted for the The Football League on its staging agreement at the new Wembley Stadium, and with The Football Association and for the Football League on their staging agreements at The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
• He has also advised MCC, the ECB, the Professional Cricketers' Association and the 18 first class cricket counties on the exploitation of their new media rights.
