Wiggin’s IP practice and Incopro, led by Partner Simon Baggs, were today shortlisted for The Lawyer Awards IP Team of the Year.

Now in their 22nd year, The Lawyer Awards have established themselves as the leading awards in the legal industry. A judging panel of 43 expert international in-house and private practice lawyers selected the shortlist of firms and companies that have demonstrated excellence and set themselves apart from the rest of the industry. The winners will be revealed during the ceremony held on Wednesday 29 June at the Intercontinental O2 in London.

Wiggin has advised on some of the highest profile IP cases, securing wins for clients ranging from luxury brands, music companies, publishers and film studios.  Wiggin is at the forefront of the fight to protect IP rights in the digital environment, pioneering the use of the Internet infrastructure and technology to tackle this problem effectively.

In 2012, Wiggin set up Incopro to provide technology solutions to global brands and content companies seeking to protect their rights online.  The company has grown considerably since its foundation and now protects the rights of many IP businesses.

This latest recognition from The Lawyer follows a series of accolades for the combined Wiggin and Incopro proposition.  Wiggin’s IP Practice retained its top tier ranking in Managing IP’s IP Stars, and the team won the UK category for copyright at the 2015 Managing IP Awards.  The combined offering was shortlisted in this year’s Legal Week Innovation Awards and won the award for Most Innovative Law Firm in Intellectual Property Law at the 2015 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards. Baggs was also identified by the FT as one of the top ten Legal Innovators of the Year.
